Pilot - Aerial Patrol
Summary
This position is responsible for aerial patrol of company pipeline systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct low-level aerial patrols to identify, report, and deter third-party activities potentially impacting the pipeline.
- Report pipeline leaks and monitor the condition of rights-of-way, including identifying washouts, exposures, and river crossing conditions.
- Execute timely reconnaissance flights following severe weather events.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience:
- Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument rating in a single-engine land aircraft.
- Five years of flying experience with a preferred minimum of 1500 total flight hours.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Hold and maintain a Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with field personnel on encroachment mitigation.
- Willingness to accommodate extended workdays, work weeks, and call-outs for emergency response.
- Maintain a proven safe driving record and provide documentation of past traffic violations upon request.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
- Extended workdays, work weeks, and call-outs for emergency response are common.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings may be required. These settings may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required.
