Embark on a Journey to the Skies: The Emirates National Cadet Pilot Programme
The Emirates National Cadet Pilot Programme offers aspiring Emirati nationals an unparalleled opportunity to transform their passion for aviation into a rewarding career. As a participant, you will receive comprehensive training at the Emirates Flight Training Academy in Dubai, becoming one of the world's most proficient pilots.
The Programme:
This fully sponsored programme covers all training expenses for a minimum of four years, including training materials, accommodation, uniforms, and three daily meals. From zero flying hours, you will progress through ground school and take to the skies in multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft. Upon graduation, you will be equipped to command one of the newest and most advanced fleets in the world with Emirates, the globe's largest international airline.
Selection Process:
Candidates meeting the selection criteria will be invited to participate in a multi-stage assessment process:
Stage 1:
- Mathematics and Physics assessments
- Medical pre-screening at the EK Clinic
Stage 2:
- Compass test
- Aviation English test
- Psychometrics tests, including Abstract Reasoning and Spatial Reasoning
Stage 3:
- Panel interview
- GCAA Medical examination
Programme Structure:
The National Cadet Programme is structured across five distinct phases:
Ab-initio Pilot:
Phase 1 – Ground School (Emirates Flight Training Academy):
- Cutting-edge technology and VR-based learning
- ATPL theoretical knowledge
- Duration: Approximately 12 months
- Stipend: AED 6,240 per month, concessional staff travel tickets, medical insurance, meals, and accommodation
Phase 2 – Flight Training (Emirates Flight Training Academy):
- Approximately 274 hours of flight and simulator experience on the SR 22 Cirrus single-engine aircraft, the Diamond DA42 twin-engine aircraft, and the Phenom-100 Jet aircraft
- Upon completion, graduates will hold a Commercial Pilot Licence (Frozen ATPL) with a Multi-Instrument Rating (CPL/Multi IR), a Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC), and Jet Orientation Course Certificate
- Duration: Approximately 12 months
- Stipend: AED 6,240 per month, concessional staff travel tickets, medical insurance, meals, and accommodation
Cadet Pilot:
Phase 3 (Emirates Training College):
- Conversion, Type Rating, and Line Training on one of the Emirates widebody aircraft
- Type Rating course followed by line training
- Duration: Approximately 3 months
- Stipend: AED 18,335 per month, concessional staff travel tickets, medical insurance, and meals
Phase 4 (Emirates Group Headquarters / Dubai Airport):
- Completion of the course, receiving a Type Rating on one of the Emirates widebody aircraft trained on and a Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence (Frozen ATPL) approved by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority
- Duration: Approximately 8 months
- Stipend: AED 31,745 per month, concessional staff travel tickets, and medical insurance
First Officer:
Phase 5 (Emirates Group Headquarters / Dubai Airport):
- Flying as a line pilot on one of the youngest and most modern aircraft fleets in the skies with Emirates, the world's largest international airline
- Pay and benefits: AED 52,105 per month (basic pay and fixed allowances), concessional staff travel tickets, and medical insurance
Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of National Service: Candidates must have completed their National Service before joining the programme.
- Height: Minimum of 160 cm.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit with a BMI of 29 or less.
- Citizenship: Must hold a valid UAE passport and Khulasat Al Qaid.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. High School Graduates (Scientific Stream Only):
- Age: 18-21 years old
- Academic Requirements: Minimum high school score of 80%
- Subjects: Candidates must be science graduates with their last year of education in chemistry, physics, or mathematics. Transcripts and High School certificates will be assessed.
- Language Proficiency: IELTS score of 6.0 is required at the time of application.
2. Degree Holders (Diploma and Above):
- Age: 21-26 years old
- Academic Requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.0 in a Scientific or Engineering Major
- Language Proficiency: IELTS score of 6.0 is required at the time of application.
