Position Summary:
Edge Autonomy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join its team as a UAS Pilot/Technician/Instructor. This crucial role involves the operation of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), providing essential technical support, and delivering comprehensive training programs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant UAS operations. This position is ideal for an individual with FAA ratings, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to conduct compelling demonstrations and rigorous equipment testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform expert UAS operations in strict compliance with FAA regulations and established company guidelines.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, meticulous mission planning, and detailed post-flight analysis.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency during UAS operations across various operational environments.
- Travel is required, potentially up to 50%.
- Provide technical support, including maintaining and troubleshooting UAS equipment.
- Execute necessary repairs and maintenance tasks on UAS platforms and associated systems.
- Conduct comprehensive equipment testing and evaluation to guarantee optimal performance and functionality.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in UAS technology and evolving industry trends.
- Develop and deliver high-quality UAS training programs for both internal personnel and external clients.
- Instruct and mentor individuals in advanced UAS piloting techniques, critical safety procedures, and relevant regulatory compliance.
- Conduct effective demonstrations and simulations to enhance trainee understanding and practical proficiency.
- Strictly adhere to FAA regulations and guidelines throughout all UAS operations and training activities.
- Actively promote and uphold a strong safety culture, emphasizing best practices and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior military experience.
- Possession of a UAS Part 107 endorsement.
- Possession of a Private Pilot License (PPL).
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, with the capacity to meticulously follow operational protocols and safety procedures.
- Proven experience in conducting demonstrations and equipment testing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAS technology, airspace regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to trainees.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities related to UAS equipment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to lift boxes regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Pilot Rated.
- Five (5) or more years of directly related experience in UAS operations, technical support, or instruction.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification.
