This full-time position, based in the continental United States (east of Denver), reports directly to the Chief Pilot and guarantees a minimum of seventy-two flight hours per month.
Responsibilities:
The First Officer (FO) is an integral member of the flight crew, working collaboratively with the Captain to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all flights. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining operational responsibility to the Captain throughout each flight.
- Adhering to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Maintaining a current first-class medical certificate, promptly notifying the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, or designee of any medical condition impacting flight performance.
- Performing all flight duties as assigned by the Captain, including assuming command in the event of the Captain's incapacitation.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the Captain's duties and responsibilities and effectively accepting delegated tasks.
- Coordinating with all flight personnel to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations.
- Exemplifying Eastern Air Express's values and culture through effective communication and collaboration with team members and passengers in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2,000 total flight hours, with at least 500 hours in turbojet aircraft.
- A valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License.
- A valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- A Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- A valid driver's license.
- ICAO Level 4 English language proficiency or higher.
- A valid passport permitting worldwide travel.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- An impeccable safety and training record.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and manage pressure in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and holidays, as determined by seniority bidding.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, DOT drug test, and Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
- A valid U.S. Passport or Green Card.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience piloting wide-body aircraft.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) experience.
Home Base:
The First Officer position is home-based, subject to the following criteria:
- Residence within the continental U.S. east of Denver (Denver and Colorado Springs are acceptable).
- Designation of a home airport within a two-hour surface travel radius from the residence.
- The chosen home airport must be served by at least two major airlines (Delta, American, United, or Southwest) with a minimum of three daily flights from each airline (regional feeder flights under major airline brands are acceptable). Changes in airport frequency may necessitate a relocation of the home base. Home base changes are permitted once every six months, upon request and approval. All parking and ground transportation costs associated with the home base are the responsibility of the First Officer. Reserve rules regarding report time and distance to the airport apply.
