Job Overview
The Gulfstream G-IV Captain serves as either Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC), ensuring the safe, efficient, and highly professional operation of all flights. This critical role supports vital NASA missions and broader Dynamic Aviation initiatives, playing a pivotal part in guaranteeing passenger safety and the overall success of each flight operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operates Gulfstream G-IV missions as PIC or SIC, frequently requiring on-call availability and extended assignments away from home, potentially up to one month.
- Maintains current knowledge of landing and instrument procedures and ensures all required pilot certifications and credentials remain valid.
- Adheres strictly to NASA contract requirements, including minimum flight hours and pilot currency standards.
- Complies with all Dynamic Aviation policies, demonstrating unwavering professionalism in travel, documentation, expense management, and communications.
- Exercises responsible stewardship over all government- and customer-issued equipment.
- Assists with aircraft maintenance, accurate recordkeeping, engine washing, and general ground support functions as required.
- Supports aircraft equipment inventory management and coordinates essential ground support at both domestic and international locations.
- Collaborates effectively across various business segments, providing comprehensive support for flight and pilot services company-wide.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all applicable aviation laws, regulations, and international/domestic airspace procedures.
- Performs any additional duties as assigned to successfully support overarching mission and company goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Candidates for the Gulfstream G-IV Captain position must possess the following:
- An active Gulfstream G-IV type rating.
- Valid Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings.
- Current Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrated minimum flight experience:
- 1,500 total flight hours.
- 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC).
- 750 hours multi-engine flight time.
- 500 hours PIC in multi-engine aircraft.
- 250 hours PIC in Gulfstream G-IV type.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, coupled with exceptional adaptability to evolving schedules and mission requirements.
- Proven experience operating within a two-pilot crew environment.
- Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive drug test and criminal background check. (Note: Certain convictions, including DUI/DWI, may lead to disqualification.)
- A valid passport is required for international travel.
- An FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is highly preferred.
