Production Pilot
De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, a globally recognized aerospace leader with a legacy of innovation and quality, is seeking a highly skilled Production Pilot to join its team in Calgary, AB, Canada. Reporting to the Director, Flight Operations, the Production Pilot will play a crucial role in the certification of new CL515 aircraft, ensuring adherence to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct production test flights to certify new aircraft, ensuring safety and conformity to type certificate.
- Perform acceptance flights with customer pilots on new aircraft deliveries.
- Execute engineering test flights to certify modified or new equipment for existing aircraft types.
- Conduct international sales and marketing demonstration flights.
- Perform international delivery flights.
- Provide entry-into-service pilot training at customer locations (up to 30 days).
- Generate detailed reports on aircraft or system discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical manuals (SOPs, FTPs, QRH, etc.).
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of pre- and post-flight documentation.
- Plan flights and trips, addressing all logistical requirements.
- Complete post-flight duties, including aircraft location reporting, flight time recording, and defect reporting.
- Conduct crew briefings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pilot in a multi-crew aircraft.
- Current instrument rating and valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering flight testing for Transport Canada aircraft.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an aircraft commander, fostering positive relationships with crew, management, and customers.
- International experience and/or training captain background preferred.
- Strong technical background in aircraft design, certification, or training is an asset.
- Current Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License with at least 4,000 hours of total flying time, and a minimum of 500 hours of command time on a turboprop aircraft, type rated on CL215/415.
- Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, and travel on short notice.
- This role may require extensive travel.
