Summary
The Captain must perform pre-flight checks such as; perform pre-flight inspections including but not limited to checking the engine and navigation equipment, checking fuel levels, making sure the aircraft insurance certificates and other legal paperwork are up to date, acquiring information about the route, weather and customers and filing appropriate flight plans. Liaising with all crew members for clear communication. The Captain must report any mechanical issues or concerns to appropriate Maintenance Department member and Chief Pilot. They also ensure fuel levels are maintained for scheduled flights. Once the aircraft is boarded, the Captain will communicate with air traffic control for required permissions. During flight, they may use navigation equipment to maintain course and altitude while continuing to monitor the plane’s systems and fuel levels. The Captain works closely with customers to ensure flight plans are on schedule and being performed to meet the customer’s needs, with safety being first priority. The Captain completes all necessary aircraft administration documents for aircraft time tracking and manifest. The Captain will be expected to abide by and utilize effective Crew Resource Management techniques and procedures when operating in a two-crew member environment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position including some unusual hours. The length of a work day varies depending on the customer requirements. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties and customers demand. Expected to arrive at HGR within one hour.
Travel
CONUS and OCONUS travel is required. As requested by the customer, travel will be for extended durations and will require a full COVID-19 vaccination.
