Responsibilities:
The Captain is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This includes:
- Verifying that takeoff, approach, and landing phases are conducted within established meteorological minimums, unless an emergency dictates otherwise.
- Ensuring all instruments, equipment, and safety gear are accessible and in optimal working condition.
- Completing the navigation portion of the flight plan and controlling the operation's progress.
- Informing Air Traffic Control (ATC) of any deviations from the original flight plan.
- Adhering to all regulations set forth by the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC).
- Taking necessary actions to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its occupants, even if it means deviating from standard procedures when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Non-Type Rated Captains:
- A minimum of 6000 total flight hours.
- At least 2000 total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on jet aircraft.
- Type-Rated Captains:
- A minimum of 5000 total flight hours.
- At least 1000 total PIC hours on the specific aircraft type.
- A minimum of 2000 total hours on jet aircraft.
- Must be a Panamanian citizen.
- Possess an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with instrument and multi-engine ground ratings.
- Provide a copy stamped by the AAC of the last three pages of your logbook.
- Be bilingual in English and Spanish with a minimum level 5 proficiency (oral and written), certified by the relevant Authority.
- Hold a current medical certificate of physical fitness.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong analytical, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Be willing and available to commit the necessary time required.
