Position Overview

The Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) is entrusted with the critical responsibility of delivering high-quality flight, simulator, and ground instruction. This instruction must strictly adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, specifically Parts 61 and 141 requirements, the Airmen's Information Manual (AIM), established advisory circulars, standardized airport operational procedures, and all internal Crosswinds Aviation policies.

This highly specialized role currently requires the Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) designation, as the organization is exclusively seeking candidates with instrument instruction authorization.

Key Responsibilities

The Instructor manages a comprehensive training portfolio, ensuring the success and compliance of all assigned students:

  • Provide rigorous flight, simulator, and classroom ground instruction consistent with Part 61 and Part 141 syllabi.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate records of student progress, flight time, and ground instruction hours.
  • Diligently manage student schedules to optimize training efficiency and ensure timely progression through courses.
  • Ensure that all students consistently meet established course standards, training requirements, and defined flight course objectives prior to certification or advancement.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance with all FAA regulations and internal operational procedures during all phases of instruction.

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) rating.
  • Current and valid FAA Medical Certificate.
