Learjet 75 Captain
Corporate Wings, a distinguished boutique-style aircraft management company and inaugural member of the Directional Aviation Portfolio, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Learjet 75 Captain. With over 40 years of experience, Corporate Wings has built a reputation for excellence in managing a fleet of over 20 aircraft, supported by a dedicated team of over 100 aviation professionals strategically positioned across the United States. The company's Management Headquarters is located at Cuyahoga County Airport in Richmond Heights, Ohio.
This role is a dedicated crew position as part of a two-pilot team operating the same Learjet 75. The Captain will support a Part 135 on-demand schedule primarily based at KCAK, involving approximately 150 hours of owner flying and 150 hours of charter flying annually.
Role Summary
As a Lead Captain at Corporate Wings, the successful candidate serves as the embodiment of the company's commitment to providing technically accurate, safe transportation and delivering a world-class service experience for all passengers. This position requires the ability to seamlessly transition between the roles of professional aviator and in-flight service provider, ensuring a concierge-level experience. The Captain also has the opportunity to guide and nurture their pilot team, fostering growth and ensuring exceptional performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage duty schedules, approve monthly expense reports, conduct annual performance evaluations, and manage training schedules for other crew members.
- Interact with additional flight crew or personnel to coordinate team action, identify areas for improvement, answer questions, share information, and promote employee goodwill. This includes mentorship and counsel to help team members strive to maximize their potential.
- Partner with the Client Service Manager to stay updated regarding aircraft schedule changes or other matters affecting aircraft or crew scheduling.
- Solicit Corporate Wings input and/or approval for all operational, personnel, and administrative issues or anticipated needs for pilot relief.
- Coordinate all maintenance test, training, and other flights not initiated by the client's normal scheduling protocol.
- Ensure the safe and efficient execution of assigned flight schedules, adhering to all regulatory and manufacturer's guidelines.
- Personally welcome and engage with passengers pre-flight, providing detailed briefings on the trip, confirming itineraries, offering weather updates, and explaining any changes.
- Serve as a dedicated liaison between passengers and Corporate Wings throughout the entire journey, from arrival at the FBO to safe departure from the final destination FBO.
- Deliver impeccable in-flight service, including the responsible handling of alcohol, catering service, and meticulous loading and stowing of all baggage.
- Uphold the cabin's integrity by performing thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking procedures before each trip.
- Flexibly undertake additional responsibilities as assigned based on specific assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must reside within 2 hours of KCAK. (Required)
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP). (Required)
- Minimum of 3,000 total flight hours, with at least 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC). (Required)
- First Class Medical with unrestricted ability to travel worldwide. (Required)
- LR75 type rating is preferred.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license is a plus.
- Ability to work varying hours including day and night; weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Able to manage rest to always be prepared for flight duty during their tour.
- Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including strong capability to effectively interact with passengers.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Working knowledge of FARs 91, 91K, and 135; ICAO and other international regulations.
