Job Summary
The First Officer will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of the Citation XL/XLS fleet. Responsibilities include upholding the highest safety standards, complying with all operational directives for Part 135 On-Demand operations, executing assigned duties in accordance with company policies, and conducting thorough preflight planning. The position also demands a dedication to providing superior customer service and ensuring the aircraft is meticulously prepared for each flight.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and maintain the highest safety standards in all operations.
- Adhere strictly to schedules and directives governing aircraft operations under Part 135 On-Demand regulations.
- Execute all assigned duties with unwavering compliance to Company manuals, memos, and established policies.
- Conduct diligent preflight planning and meticulously prepare flight plans.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all passengers.
- Ensure the aircraft is maintained in a clean and prepared state, equipped with all necessary provisions for passenger safety and comfort.
- Wear the Company-issued uniform and strictly adhere to the uniform policy.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, with the ability to travel internationally without restriction.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Fluent command of the English language, both written and spoken; proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Polished and professional interpersonal skills, coupled with a positive, customer-centric attitude.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, and time management capabilities.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with diverse personalities.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to inspire and motivate others.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.
- Successful completion of a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening; willingness to participate in FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive 10-year work history background check, along with criminal history and fingerprint checks as mandated by the TSA.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts, as dictated by operational requirements.
- Strict adherence to all safety regulations and professional conduct, complying with OSHA, EPA, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
- Possession of a current, valid passport.
- Ability to routinely lift 75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- No history of excessive check ride failures.
- No prior aviation-related accidents or incidents.
Required Flight Experience:
- Airman Certificate: Commercial/ME
- Ratings: SIC Type Rating
- Medical Certificate: First-Class
- Total Flight Time: 1,200 hours
- Pilot in Command Time: 250 hours
- Multi-Engine Land Time: 25 hours
- Instrument Time: 75 hours

- Non-Revenue/Space Available (NRSA) Travel Privileges: NRSA travel privileges on Contour Airlines are granted upon hire, with access to MyID Travel available after six months of service.
