The Position: Flight Attendant

CommuteAir is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to serve as Flight Attendants based at Washington Dulles. This pivotal role involves the expert performance of all inflight safety, customer service, and cabin preparation duties. The Flight Attendant works collaboratively with flight and ground crews, acting as an integral team member to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional travel experience for all passengers.

Physical Demands

The role of Flight Attendant necessitates medium physical exertion, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force consistently to move objects. Due to cabin maximum height limits, candidates must have a height between 4'11" and 5'11" without shoes. Essential capabilities include the ability to push and control a wheeled beverage cart weighing up to 250 lbs., and to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, twist, and maneuver effectively within confined spaces. The ability to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits is critical. Clear auditory perception in loud environments is also a prerequisite. All physical requirements should be achievable with or without reasonable accommodation.

Visual Acuity

This position requires a minimal standard of visual acuity, suitable for tasks involving inspection, close assembly, clerical and administrative duties, and any work dealing largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer usage, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts.

Work Environment

Flight Attendants operate in a dynamic environment characterized by varied conditions. While activities predominantly occur inside the aircraft, incumbents will be exposed to outside elements, including significant weather variations ranging from over 90 degrees Fahrenheit to under 32 degrees Fahrenheit, dependent on locations and climate changes. The cabin environment may involve sufficient noise levels requiring elevated vocalization to be heard above ambient noise at times, and atmospheric conditions may cause heightened movement and cabin discomfort.
