Key Responsibilities
The First Officer is responsible for executing essential duties that ensure reliable and punctual flight operations. These responsibilities include:
- Contributing significantly to on-time performance by consistently adhering to all mandated report times, scheduled departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Executing comprehensive and accurate flight planning for every assigned flight, which necessitates meticulous utilization of all applicable meteorological data, weather information, and operational reports.
- Ensuring all flight planning and execution procedures strictly comply with established Company policies, standardized operating procedures, and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective candidates must satisfy the rigorous requirements mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Company to be considered for this demanding role:
- The applicant must meet the minimum flight hour requirements for either an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or a Restricted ATP (R-ATP) Certificate. Candidates may be considered for an interview if they are within six (6) months of achieving the requisite minimums.
- Possession of a current and valid Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit is mandatory.
- Must be current in Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations and landing requirements, maintaining proficiency as defined by regulatory standards.
- Must hold a current, valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
