Flight Instructor - Cirrus Aircraft
Job Summary
Cirrus Aircraft seeks an exceptional Flight Instructor to deliver industry-leading, learner-centric flight training. This role involves educating discerning customers in iconic Cirrus Aircraft SR models at premier Cirrus Services Centers across the USA. The training utilizes a structured syllabus and proprietary course materials to facilitate an effective learning process.
Responsibilities
The Flight Instructor is responsible for conducting comprehensive flight and ground instruction in accordance with established Cirrus policies and procedures. Key duties include acting as Pilot in Command (PIC) for 14 CFR Part 91 corporate flight operations, such as demonstration, repositioning, and post-maintenance flights. The position also encompasses conducting flight reviews, proficiency checks, and other essential pilot and flight instructor duties.
Ancillary responsibilities include identifying and communicating pilot progression and training opportunities, meticulous record-keeping of training activities, proactive safety management, detailed flight planning and preparation, and effective lesson planning. The Flight Instructor will engage in complex problem-solving, demonstrate mastery of subject matter, and contribute to process improvements.
- Adhere strictly to all industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies.
- Provide exemplary and professional customer service.
- Make timely and accurate safety-of-flight decisions.
- Conduct training events adhering to program guidance and requirements.
- Deliver flight and ground instruction per defined standards.
- Meticulously record all training event activities and results in pilot training records.
- Recommend students for FAA written and practical tests upon successful completion of training.
- Assess pilot performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains for each training event.
- Identify and implement opportunities to customize training events to meet individual student needs.
- Serve as PIC for Cirrus aircraft during corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights.
- Perform routine pre-flight and post-flight inspections, aircraft cleaning, fueling, oil, and de-icing fluid replenishment, and chart subscription updates.
- Maintain continuous learning regarding the latest developments in the Cirrus Aircraft product line.
- Cultivate and maintain a deep understanding of aircraft knowledge, serving as a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Communicate effectively with students both before and after training sessions.
- Enhance flight safety through the delivery of high-quality, standardized flight and ground instruction.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Minimum of one year of pilot experience.
- 350 dual given hours, or 250 dual given hours specifically in Cirrus aircraft.
- Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate.
- Certifications: Airplane Single Engine, Instrument Airplane.
- Hold a current FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Possess a current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in IFR flight in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC operations, international flight, and night flying.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
