Position: Flight Instructor
Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Flight Instructor to deliver industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to its valued customers and internal employees. Based at premier Cirrus Service Centers across the USA, the Flight Instructor will provide structured training in iconic Cirrus SR series aircraft, utilizing proprietary course materials designed for streamlined learning. This role primarily focuses on delivering flight instruction to internal company employees through the Cirrus Flying Club. Additionally, the instructor will act as Pilot in Command for 14 CFR part 91 corporate flight operations, including demonstration, repositioning, and post-maintenance flights, as well as conducting flight reviews and proficiency checks. The Flight Instructor reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor and will contribute to identifying pilot progression opportunities, maintaining meticulous records, ensuring robust safety management, and recommending process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhering to all established industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies.
- Delivering exceptional and professional customer service.
- Making timely and accurate decisions concerning flight safety.
- Conducting comprehensive flight and ground training events in accordance with program guidance and Cirrus policy and procedure documents.
- Meticulously documenting all training activities, results, and pilot progression in training records.
- Recommending students for FAA written and practical examinations.
- Assessing pilot performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains for each training event.
- Customizing training events to effectively meet individual student needs.
- Serving as Pilot in Command for Cirrus aircraft during corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights.
- Performing essential pre-flight and post-flight duties, including inspections, fueling, oil checks, de-icing fluid application, and chart subscription updates.
- Maintaining current knowledge of the latest developments and features across the Cirrus Aircraft product line.
- Demonstrating mastery of aircraft knowledge and serving as an exemplary aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Ensuring consistent and effective communication with students before and after training sessions.
- Actively enhancing flight safety through the provision of high-quality, standardized flight and ground instruction.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 150 hours of dual instruction given, or graduation from an FAA-approved flight instructor school.
- A current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- A valid FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- A current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
Preferred Experience:
- Extensive Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) experience in congested airspace.
- Mountain flying experience.
- Extensive actual Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) experience.
- International flight experience.
- Significant night flying experience.
