Job Summary:
Cirrus Aircraft seeks a highly skilled Flight Instructor fluent in both Spanish and English to provide industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to its discerning customers. Training is conducted in iconic Cirrus Aircraft SR model airplanes at premier Cirrus Services Centers across the USA, following a structured syllabus with proprietary course material designed to streamline the learning process.
The Flight Instructor acts as pilot in command for 14 CFR part 91 corporate flight operations (including demonstration, repositioning, and post-maintenance flights) as needed. Responsibilities also include conducting flight reviews, proficiency checks, and other pilot and flight instructor duties. The instructor reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Ancillary duties involve identifying and communicating pilot progression opportunities, maintaining meticulous records, contributing to safety management, conducting thorough flight and lesson planning, demonstrating mastery of subject matter, and recommending process improvements.
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Adheres to all industry and Cirrus established safety procedures and policies.
- Provides excellent and professional customer service.
- Makes timely and accurate decisions regarding safety of flight.
- Conducts training events following program guidance and requirements.
- Provides flight and ground instruction according to standards defined in Cirrus policy and procedure documents.
- Meticulously records all training event activities and results in pilot training records.
- Recommends students for FAA written and practical tests.
- Assesses pilot performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains for each training event.
- Identifies opportunities to customize training events to fit individual student needs.
- Acts as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft for corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights.
- Performs normal pre-flight and post-flight inspections, cleans, fuels, adds oil and de-ice fluid, and updates chart subscriptions.
- Maintains continuous learning regarding the latest developments in the Cirrus Aircraft line of products.
- Processes and maintains a deep level of aircraft knowledge, serving as a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Maintains communication with students as required pre- and post- training.
- Enhances flight safety by providing excellent, high quality, and standardized flight and ground instruction.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- One year of pilot experience required.
- 350 hours of dual given instruction, or 250 hours of dual given instruction in Cirrus aircraft required.
- Holds a current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Holds a current FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Holds a current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Ability to instruct aviation in both Spanish and English.
- Experience with IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night operations is preferred.
