Flight Instructor
Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Flight Instructor to provide exceptional, learner-centric flight training to its discerning customers. Job Summary:
The Flight Instructor delivers structured syllabus training using proprietary course material designed for streamlined learning. The role encompasses acting as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft for corporate flight operations, including demonstration, repositioning, and post-maintenance flights, as well as conducting flight reviews and proficiency checks. The instructor reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all industry and Cirrus established safety procedures and policies.
- Provides excellent and professional customer service.
- Makes timely and accurate decisions regarding flight safety.
- Conducts training events following program guidance and requirements.
- Provides flight and ground instruction per standards defined in Cirrus policy and procedure documents.
- Meticulously records all training event activities and results in pilot training records.
- Recommends students for FAA written and practical tests.
- Assesses pilot performance in the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains for each training event.
- Discovers opportunities to customize training events to fit individual student needs.
- Acts as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft for corporate flight missions, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights.
- Performs normal pre-flight and post-flight inspections, cleans, fuels, adds oil and de-ice fluid, and updates chart subscriptions.
- Continuously learns the latest developments in the Cirrus Aircraft line of aircraft products.
- Processes and maintains a deep level of aircraft knowledge and be a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Maintains communication with students as required pre- and post- training.
- Enhances flight safety by providing excellent, high quality, and standardized flight and ground instruction.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- One year of pilot experience is required.
- A minimum of 350 dual given hours, or 250 dual given hours in Cirrus aircraft, is required.
- Must hold a current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Must hold an FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Must possess a current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- IFR experience in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night experience is preferred.
