Flight Instructor

Job Summary
The Flight Instructor will deliver industry-leading instruction, adhering to a structured syllabus with proprietary course material designed to enhance the learning process. Beyond direct instruction, this role encompasses various critical responsibilities, including assessing and documenting pilot progression, maintaining impeccable safety standards, meticulous flight planning, and contributing to process improvements. This professional will also serve as pilot-in-command for corporate flight operations, proficiency checks, and other essential duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all industry and Cirrus established safety procedures and policies while performing job duties.
- Provide exceptional and professional customer service at all times.
- Make timely and accurate decisions regarding the safety of flight.
- Conduct training events following program guidance and requirements.
- Provide standardized flight and ground instruction as defined by Cirrus policy and procedure.
- Meticulously record all training event activities and results in pilot training records.
- Recommend students for FAA written and practical tests.
- Assess pilot performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective learning domains.
- Customize training to fit individual student needs.
- Serve as pilot-in-command for corporate flights, ferry flights, internal training flights, and demonstration flights.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, maintenance tasks, and aircraft servicing.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay current with all Cirrus Aircraft product lines.
- Act as a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Maintain communication with students as required, both before and after training.
- Enhance flight safety by providing excellent, high-quality, and standardized flight and ground instruction.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane).
- Hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane).
- Maintain a current Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Preferred experience includes IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night operations.
- Flight Instructor II: One year of pilot experience and 350 total instruction hours or 250 Cirrus instruction hours required.
- Flight Instructor III: Two years of pilot experience and 750 total instruction hours or 500 Cirrus instruction hours required.
