We are welcoming interested candidates to explore a unique opportunity as Aircraft Captain within our business aviation unit. In this role, you will be part of a mature and specialized organization that has responsibility for the safe and seamless execution of domestic, and certain international business flight operations. In the role of Aircraft Captain, you will report to the Director, Flight Operations and will be accountable for the safe and productive operation of company aircraft.

Operating under 14 CFR Part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, the Cerner Flight team is focused on providing impeccable and accessible aviation services directly to our company. The Cerner Flight Organization is a well-organized and disciplined IS-BAO Stage III operator and places high value on strong communication toward the preservation of a healthy safety culture. Undergirding our responsive and capable flight operation is an observable commitment to safety, accuracy, humility, and integrity. These attributes are fortified by department guidance and leadership, exemplified by all department staff, and are viewed as foundational to the sustained success of the flight organization.

Working Environment

Onsite: Relocation Assistance Offered

This position offers an Onsite working environment. Meaning you will primarily work in a Cerner office or client site. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-Onsite

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • 1 year corporate or private aviation work experience
    • At least 5 years total combined higher education or related work experience
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate – Federal Aviation Administration
  • First Class Airman’s Medical Certificate - Federal Aviation Administration
  • Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit – Federal Communications Commission
  • High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3000 hours Total Time
  • 2000 hours multi-engine jet airplane experience
  • At least 3 years experience crewing jet-powered aircraft
  • Pilot-in-Command jet experience
  • Type Rating – CL30, or other jet type rating.
  • Experience with formal safety management programs and associated audit programs
  • Experience with web-based planning and communication tools​
  • Experience with flight related mobile device applications and paperless flight operations
  • Proficient in the basic use of MS Office applications and other web-based technology
  • Bachelor's degree in an Aviation related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Expectations

  • Highly flexible hours required; extended travel, multiple overnight stays, weekend, holidays etc.
  • Willing to travel 80-100%
  • Currently living or willing to relocate within one hour of the Kansas City metro area
  • Ability to hold a valid Passport
  • Ability to travel internationally as a crew member
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of safety and security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
