The Role: First Officer

The First Officer plays a critical role within the Flight Crew, supporting the Captain in all phases of flight operations to ensure safe and efficient air cargo transport across the Cargojet network.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Captain in comprehensive flight planning, preparation, and overall flight management.
• Executing take-offs and landings under the specific authority and guidance of the Captain.
• Performing additional duties as delegated by the Captain to ensure seamless operational flow.
• Assuming the full responsibilities of the Captain in the unforeseen event of the Captain’s incapacitation, demonstrating leadership and operational readiness.

Qualifications and Requirements

Prospective candidates for this Aviation First Officer position must meet the following stringent requirements:

• Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or a Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL) coupled with successful completion of either the IATRA or SAMRA & SARON examinations.
• A minimum of 1000 hours of total flying time, including at least 250 hours accumulated on multi-turbine aircraft.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and the unrestricted ability to travel throughout the Cargojet network, which includes successfully obtaining necessary crew visas for international destinations such as the United States.
• The capability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Demonstrated English Language Proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
