Position Overview and Key Responsibilities

The First Officer is an integral member of the flight crew, working closely with the Captain to ensure safe and efficient flight operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Captain in all phases of flight planning, preparation, and comprehensive management of the flight.
• Executing take-offs and landings under the specific authority and supervision of the Captain.
• Carrying out additional duties as delegated by the Captain to support operational effectiveness.
• Assuming full responsibility as Captain in the unforeseen event of the Captain’s incapacitation, demonstrating leadership and swift decision-making.

Compensation and Benefits

Cargojet is committed to offering a competitive and rewarding compensation package for its First Officers, including:

• Annual Compensation: Starting at $78,831.00 CAD for a Level 1 First Officer.

• Training: Cargojet does not require new employees to enter into training bonds.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for the First Officer position, candidates must meet the following stringent requirements:

• Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or a Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL) accompanied by successful completion of either the IATRA or SAMRA & SARON examinations.
• A minimum of 1000 hours of total flying time, with at least 250 hours accrued in multi-turbine aircraft.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and the unencumbered ability to travel without restrictions within the entire Cargojet network, including successfully obtaining all necessary crew visas for international destinations, such as the United States.
• The capability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Demonstrated English Language Proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
