A full-time Captain position is available with an aviation employer in Hyannis, MA. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of flight operations, maintaining a professional cockpit environment, and adhering to all company and regulatory standards.
The Captain is responsible for the overall safety and operation of the aircraft during flight assignments. This position requires a commitment to professional conduct, vigilance during all phases of flight, and the ability to assist other company personnel as needed, including potential involvement in aircraft loading and refueling after appropriate training. The Captain will also ensure the flight crew is adequately rested and properly attired, conduct thorough preflight inspections, and verify that the aircraft is properly equipped and airworthy for each flight. Supervision of the Second in Command (SIC), where applicable, for flight planning and preparation is a key responsibility. This role also includes detailed flight planning, preparation, and filing of flight plans, considering all relevant operational factors. The Captain will supervise cargo, baggage, and passenger loading, ensuring weight and balance limitations are met and cargo is secured. Aircraft operation will be conducted at safe altitudes, prioritizing passenger comfort and safety. Maintaining flight logs, reporting mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with company manuals, FAA Regulations, and Operations Specifications, including FAR 135.265, are essential duties.
