Key Requirements for Aviation Instructors
- License Requirement: A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) license is mandatory for this position.
- Issuing Authority: Candidates must possess an FAA license.
- Medical Certification: A Class 1 Medical Certificate is required.
- Type Rating: While a specific type rating is not a prerequisite, comprehensive training will be provided.
- Visa Sponsorship: Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.
- Interpersonal and Professional Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate an exceptional ability to interact harmoniously and professionally with a diverse student and employee population. Proven capacity to perform effectively under pressure, adeptly manage multiple priorities, establish and achieve objectives, and navigate unforeseen circumstances is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of computer systems, including Windows and Apple iOS, is required.
- Instructional Expertise: Candidates must possess the ability to read, analyze, and effectively communicate with CAU students and personnel. The role necessitates teaching in strict accordance with the FAA Fundamentals of Instruction, as detailed in the FAA Aviation Instructor’s Handbook, to Airman Certification standards and CAU’s internal Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communication and Presentation: An advanced ability to present information clearly and effectively to Flight Operations’ senior leadership is a critical component of this position.
