Position Overview

CAE is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a KC-135 Aircraft Systems/Operational Procedures Instructor. This role involves providing expert instruction within aircraft, classroom, and simulator environments. The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop curriculum, review courseware, and perform administrative duties to ensure operational excellence and mission readiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert KC-135 pilot procedures instruction in classroom, simulator, and aircraft platforms.
  • Deliver Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) training.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for curriculum development, lesson reviews, and the continuous improvement of training policies.
  • Conduct ground training, including student diagnosis and remediation.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling, record keeping, student progress monitoring, counseling, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain proficiency in the operation of essential KC-135 Aircrew Training Devices, instrument procedures, take-offs, landings, and emergency protocols.
  • Adhere to all company security, data protection, and handling policies regarding government and proprietary information.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of eight years of total flying experience, including five years of military experience.
  • At least two years of experience as a KC-135 Pilot flight instructor and in training management.
  • Recent experience as a KC-135 Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot.
  • Completion of a formal USAF Instructor training course.
  • Strong facilitation and data analysis skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Skills and Physical Requirements

  • Technical Abilities: Ability to interpret complex documentation, generate professional proposals, calculate financial and statistical figures, and draw logical conclusions from data.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for up to six hours daily; walk, climb ladders into cockpits/simulators; stoop, bend, and crawl; and possess the auditory/olfactory ability to detect mechanical flaws.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as required; position includes potential for domestic and international travel.
  • Work Environment: Occasional exposure to extreme heat, loud noises, airborne particles, and high-pressure hydraulic mechanical parts.
