Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking an experienced Instructor Pilot to join our team, delivering high-quality flight simulator and ground school training. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, guiding clients through training experiences while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and instructional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive simulator and classroom instruction for various aircraft types, including licenses, type ratings, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conduct professional pre-flight and post-flight simulator briefings in alignment with CAE standards.
  • Maintain accurate training records, track instructional qualifications, and recommend remedial training as necessary.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and maintenance of training curricula and courseware.
  • Provide a customer-focused, professional, and welcoming learning environment.
  • Following approximately 1.5 years of service, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman, subject to business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an unrestricted ATP certificate and at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • Demonstrated passion for instruction supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Participation in the CAE DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Legal authorization to live and work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business aviation and single-pilot operations.
  • Prior instructional or training experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to a diverse, global customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records in compliance with CAE and FAA requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination suitable for instructional tasks.
  • Ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours at a time.
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours with limited breaks.
  • Capability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as required for simulator operation.
