Simulator Flight Instructor I (Part-Time) - ATP-CTP E145

CAE is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Simulator Flight Instructor I to join our team in Dallas. In this role, the successful candidate will support the next generation of pilots by delivering high-quality training within the ATP-CTP E145 program, adhering to regulatory standards, customer requirements, and CAE operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led, Part 142 training to CAE customers.
  • Conduct ATP/CTP ground school and simulator training sessions specifically on the E145 platform.
  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
  • Provide simulator instruction for licenses, type ratings, and certifications.
  • Maintain accurate client training records and ensure seamless instructor handovers.
  • Evaluate student progress and recommend remedial training as required.
  • Document simulator usage and report equipment discrepancies according to established protocols.
  • Maintain personal instructional qualifications and currency to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for curriculum and courseware development initiatives.
  • Complete examiner-related training and perform duties as an invigilator during examinations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted FAA ATP certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within an FAA Part 121 or 135 program.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years of relevant aviation experience.
  • Successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot License written examinations.
  • Must meet minimum instructor qualification and experience requirements of the applicable Regulatory Authority.
  • Working knowledge of current aviation regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change.
  • Willingness and ability to work night shifts as required.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current instructor qualification or rating issued by a Regulatory Authority.
  • Qualification meeting requirements for Simulator Instructor designation.
  • Additional E145 type rating.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to perform the following essential functions, with reasonable accommodation if required:

  • Constantly ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Occasionally navigate into various environments, including confined spaces.
  • Maintain stationary positions (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally lift or adjust objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers.
