C-130/L-382 Aircraft Instructor
CAE Defense & Security is seeking a highly experienced C-130/L-382 Aircraft Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering advanced avionics instruction in simulator, classroom, and practical environments. This role is crucial in preparing military customers for the highest levels of mission readiness by providing expert training in various critical aviation subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction on C130/L-382 aircraft flight and performance manual subjects.
- Deliver training on flight rules, Crew Resource Management, and Night Vision Imaging Systems.
- Ensure all instructional activities prioritize safety.
- Develop curriculum, syllabi, lesson plans, and courseware.
- Generate post-training evaluation reports.
- Direct, coordinate, and lead aircrew activities during simulator training sessions.
- Operate the simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) during training.
- Maintain current knowledge through ongoing training and self-study.
- Engage and maintain credibility with customer attendees.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clearly articulate procedures, physical processes, and concepts to domestic and international customers.
- Apply necessary math skills for aviation-related mission planning, including flight plans and fuel consumption calculations.
- Demonstrate intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and redirect students as needed.
- Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Work a flexible schedule as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years of experience as a pilot.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a C-130/L-382 Aircraft Pilot Instructor.
- Minimum of 2500 hours of flight time as a C-130/L-382 Pilot.
- Minimum of a 4-year college degree or recognized equivalent.
- Previous experience in curriculum development.
- Ability to hold credibility and command the attention of customer attendees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly express procedures, physical processes, and concepts to both domestic and international customers.
- Proficiency in mathematics required for aviation-related flight plans and fuel consumption calculations.
- Sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and redirect attendees.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Preferred Skills:
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.
- Airdrop experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must be able to provide US military or civil airline records of prior flight and/or simulator time.
Security Responsibilities:
- Must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures.
- Personally responsible for the proper marking and handling of all information and materials.
- Shall not divulge information or grant access to employees without a need-to-know, nor divulge information outside the company without management approval.
- All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment:
This position operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments. Standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, is routinely used.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform foreign travel for extended assignments.
- Ability to stand and conduct academic instruction in classrooms, simulators, or other platforms for up to eight hours per day.
- Ability to hear and tolerate simulation vibration and acoustic environments.
- Ability to climb stairs to enter and exit the simulator.
- Ability to sit in a standard instructional aircraft chair, lift hands above the head, and reach controls as necessary.
