Gulfstream 650 Instructor Pilot

Position Overview

CAE is seeking a highly qualified Gulfstream 650 Instructor Pilot to join its esteemed team. This pivotal role involves cultivating pilot confidence and expertise through comprehensive ground school and simulator training. The Instructor Pilot will be instrumental in preparing clients for critical aviation scenarios, fostering trust and mastery through expertly delivered instruction.

The Instructor Pilot will conduct initial, recurrent, and specialty training courses for CAE customers. A key focus will be on individual customer progress and performance, utilizing a tailored approach that includes meticulous lesson planning, classroom and simulator setup, and the diligent maintenance of current publications and training materials. Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver standardized ground and simulator training for various events, including Captain Upgrades, Initial/Recurrent Training, PIC/SIC Evaluations, Differences Training, and Remedial Training, adhering strictly to aircraft requirements.
  • Uphold and impart company standards for service and safety, ensuring all trainees adhere to established flying practices.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal, verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills to effectively convey subject matter and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accurately and impartially judge and evaluate pilot performance.
  • Conduct thorough ground and simulator training sessions for customers.
  • Maintain accurate training records, complete all necessary paperwork, and submit required documents to the company punctually.
  • Evaluate customer skill and knowledge acquisition against the established standards of CAE x SIMCOM.
  • Serve as an effective liaison between customers and training center management.
  • If authorized as a TCE for CAE x SIMCOM, conduct Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks in accordance with FAR 135/142 regulations.
  • Assist in defining customer training requirements through active participation in training conferences and meetings.
  • Maintain ongoing competency and necessary qualifications to instruct.
  • Uphold a consistently high level of professionalism.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, an unrestricted ATP certificate.
  • A minimum of one unrestricted PIC Type Rating.
  • A demonstrated passion for teaching, supported by exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and other internet-based programs.
  • Must be eligible to participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Prior experience flying business aircraft is considered a significant asset.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
  • Above-average knowledge of Applicable Regulations, Flight Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Crewmember Standard Operating Procedures, Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Performance, and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Excellent fluency in English, encompassing speaking, understanding, reading, and writing.
  • Exceptional listening and presentation skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • General knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. MS Access database experience is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and support cultural diversity.
  • A strong customer service orientation.

Work Environment

  • Work will be conducted in a dual environment: office and simulator.
  • May involve light lifting, up to 30 lbs.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
