Position Summary

CAE is actively seeking a qualified, full-time Certificated Flight Instructor to support the crucial Initial Pilot Training (IPT) Program for the United States Air Force (USAF) located in Pueblo, Colorado. The Certificated Flight Instructor provides high-quality flight and ground training, evaluates student performance meticulously, and serves as a professional developer and mentor to new aviators entering the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Certificated Flight Instructor is expected to execute the following core functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these duties.

• Conducts all phases of training, including both ground instruction and flight duties, in strict accordance with the applicable FAA training requirements under FAR Part 141.
• Provides comprehensive ground instruction on aircraft systems, training maneuvers, procedures, and various flight related academic subjects.
• Executes thorough pre-flight and post-flight debriefings and delivers effective in-flight instruction to ensure USAF students achieve a complete and profound understanding of all training materials.
• Manages and executes flight training designed to result in USAF students successfully obtaining Private Pilot Certification with Instrument privileges for Single and Multi-Engine Land Airplane operations.
• Completes required gradebook entries accurately and promptly to ensure all syllabus requirements and training milestones are met.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• License/Certificate: Current Flight Instructor Airplane Single Engine Land (CFI).
• Current FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Candidates possessing the following experience and skills will be highly regarded:

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of previous experience as a flight instructor.
• Flight Instructor Certificates: Flight Instructor Airplane Single and Multi-Engine; Instrument Airplane (CFII, MEI).
• Previous experience as a Certificated Flight Instructor teaching technologically advanced aircraft (TAA) in a Part 141 flight school environment, or Military Undergraduate Flight Training (UPT) experience as a fully qualified instructor.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions and Environment

The working environment encompasses diverse aviation settings, including outdoors, hangar, office, ramp, aircraft cockpit, and classroom environments.
