About the Role

CAE is seeking a qualified C-130/L-382 Aircraft Navigator Instructor. This role involves planning, organizing, and delivering instruction on legacy and advanced avionics for C-130/L-382 aircraft. Instruction is provided in simulator, classroom, and practical environments and includes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS).

Key Responsibilities

• Provides instruction on C-130/L-382 flight rules, navigation, and performance manual subjects.
• Delivers instruction in Crew Resource Management and Night Vision Systems.
• Ensures all instruction is conducted with safety as the paramount priority.
• Develops curriculum, syllabi, lesson plans, and courseware.
• Generates post-training evaluation reports.
• Directs, coordinates, and leads aircrew activities during simulator training sessions.
• Operates the simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) during fixed training device and simulator sessions.
• Maintains current knowledge through training courses and self-study.
• Holds credibility and commands the attention of customer attendees.
• Communicates effectively through excellent verbal and written skills.
• Clearly articulates procedures, physical processes, and concepts to both domestic and international customers.
• Applies necessary mathematical skills for aviation-related mission planning and execution, including flight plans, fuel consumption, and performance calculations.
• Utilizes sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and, when necessary, redirect students.
• Maintains proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Works a flexible schedule.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of experience as a navigator is required, including at least three years as a C-130 Aircraft Navigator Instructor.
• Possesses a minimum of 2000 hours of flight time as a C-130 Navigator.
• Previous experience in curriculum development is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain credibility and engage customer attendees.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of clearly expressing procedures, physical processes, and concepts to diverse customers.
• Requires mathematical skills necessary for aviation-related flight plans and fuel consumption calculations.
• Displays sufficient intellectual and personal skills for student evaluation and guidance.
• Exhibits detail-oriented work habits.
• Is proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule.
• Candidates must provide US military or civil airline records verifying prior flight and/or simulator time.

Preferred Skills

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Experience with Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations is a plus.
• Airdrop experience is desirable.
• Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is advantageous.

Work Environment

The role operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments. Standard office equipment is routinely utilized.

Physical Demands

The position requires the ability to travel internationally for extended assignments, stand for up to eight hours daily for instruction, tolerate simulator vibration and acoustic environments, climb stairs for simulator access, and comfortably sit and reach controls in an instructional chair typical of aircraft.

Security Responsibilities

The instructor must adhere strictly to all company security and data protection/usage policies. This includes proper marking and handling of information, restricting access to those with a need-to-know, and obtaining management approval before divulging information outside the company.
