Position Summary

The C-130 / L-382 Aircraft Pilot Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instruction on legacy and advanced avionics for C-130 / L-382 aircraft. This instruction is conducted in simulator, classroom, and practical environments, encompassing subjects such as Crew Resource Management and Night Vision Imaging Systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in C-130 / L-382 flight and performance manual subjects.
• Delivers instruction in flight rules, Crew Resource Management, and Night Vision Imaging Systems.
• Ensures all instruction is conducted with safety as the number one priority.
• Develops curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and courseware.
• Generates post-training evaluation reports.
• Directs, coordinates, and leads all aircrew activity during simulator training sessions.
• Operates the simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) during training sessions.
• Maintains current knowledge through training courses and self-study.
• Holds credibility and captures the attention of customer attendees.
• Clearly expresses procedures, physical processes, and concepts to both domestic and international customers.
• Maintains necessary math skills for aviation-related mission planning/execution, including flight plans, fuel consumption, and performance calculations.
• Possesses sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and, when necessary, re-direct students.
• Remains proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Works a flexible schedule.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum of seven years of experience as a pilot.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a C-130 / L-382 Aircraft Pilot Instructor.
• Minimum of 2500 hours of flight time as a C-130 / L-382 Pilot.
• Minimum 4-year college degree or a recognized equivalent.
• Previous experience in curriculum development.
• Ability to hold credibility and the attention of customer attendees.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to clearly express procedures and concepts to domestic and international customers.
• Necessary math skills for aviation calculations like flight plans and fuel consumption.
• Sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and re-direct attendees.
• Detail-oriented.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.
• Airdrop experience.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Candidate must be able to provide US military or civil airline records of prior flight and/or simulator time.

Security Responsibilities

The instructor must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. This includes proper marking and handling of information and materials, restricting access to those with a need-to-know, and not divulging information outside the company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources.

Work Environment

This role operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments, routinely using standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include:

• Ability to travel internationally for extended assignments.
• Ability to stand and conduct academic instruction for up to eight hours daily.
• Ability to hear and tolerate simulation vibration and acoustic environments.
• Ability to climb stairs to enter and exit the simulator.
• Ability to sit in a normal instructional aircraft chair, lift hands above head, and reach controls as necessary.
