About the Role

CAE is seeking a skilled and experienced Gulfstream rated or experienced pilot to join their team as a Gulfstream 550 Instructor Pilot in Las Vegas. This role offers an opportunity to transition from cockpit operations to a dynamic classroom and simulator environment, contributing expertise to train the next generation of aviation professionals. This position is ideal for pilots seeking a stable, home-based role in the Southwest.

Key Responsibilities

The Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering high-quality flight training in a flight simulator and ground school setting. This is conducted in strict adherence to appropriate regulatory agency requirements, approved CAE curriculum, and customer specifications. The Instructor serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding clients through comprehensive training programs.

Specific duties include:

• Providing simulator/flight or classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
• Conducting thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings in a thorough, professional manner in accordance with CAE standards.
• Performing necessary administrative duties, such as completing training records, recommending remedial training when required, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
• Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the creation of curricula and courseware when needed.
• Designated Instructors may be expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman based on business needs and after demonstrating proficiency for over 1.5 years.

Minimum Qualifications

• Holds or meets qualifications to receive an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Type Rating.
• Possesses a passion for teaching others, demonstrated through strong communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
• Must participate in CAE’s Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug & Alcohol testing program.
• Authorization to live and work in the United States is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience flying business aircraft is a significant advantage.
