Position Summary
CAE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will provide critical support to the Joint Interface Control Division (JICD) in fulfilling its responsibilities as the Joint Chiefs of Staff proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations (JTO) Interface Training Program.
This position will be instrumental in ensuring operational forces possess the knowledge and skills to maximize the capabilities of JTO Interface Systems. Your contributions will directly impact the readiness and effectiveness of joint, allied, and coalition air and ground forces in employing JTO Interface capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver, and maintain JID courses, ensuring curriculum alignment with evolving operational needs.
- Liaise with Combatant Commander staffs to plan and prepare for JTO exercises.
- Prepare and review OPTASK LINK messages, a crucial aspect of JTO exercise execution.
- Select, modify, and request Link 16 networks to support JTO exercises effectively.
- Analyze multi-TDL architecture performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Collaborate with development and acquisition agencies to procure and evaluate JICO automated tools, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness.
- Manage the configuration of JICO automated tools, maintaining their operational integrity.
- Operate the Link 16 Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS) and provide expert guidance to users facing Frequency Clearance and Time Slot Duty Factor (TSDF) challenges.
- Represent the JID at joint and combined interoperability working groups, contributing to the advancement of JTO capabilities.
- Plan and administer courses, encompassing the development and maintenance of schedules, coordination of hands-on field training, preparation of student materials, and management of student notification processes.
- Develop, instruct, revise, and maintain JID course materials, ensuring their accuracy, currency, and relevance.
- Conduct curriculum reviews, enhance courseware, and integrate multimedia elements, particularly within an electronic classroom setting.
- Provide support to worldwide deployed mobile training teams, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to delivering training in diverse operational environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned, showcasing flexibility and a willingness to contribute to team success.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or an equivalent blend of education, certification, and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a JICO, or a combination of JICO experience with other directly related roles such as Air Battle Manager, Air Weapons Officer, or Intercept Control Officer.
- Candidates without prior JICO qualifications must be willing and able to obtain and maintain JICO Instructor qualifications.
- Experience with Variable Message Format over Combat Net Radio (VMF over CNR) and/or Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) is highly desired.
- Familiarity with multi-TDL environments, acquired through experience or training.
- Proven track record as a military instructor, demonstrating effective teaching and communication skills.
- Previous experience as a Field Grade Military Officer, Warrant Officer, or Senior NCO, reflecting leadership and operational experience.
- Ability to deploy worldwide in support of Mobile Training Teams, often operating under challenging field conditions.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) or curriculum development.

- Due to the nature of our work and US Government contract requirements, only US citizens are eligible for this position.
- The selected candidate must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
