The Opportunity
CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AC130 H/U/W/J Instructor Pilot to join our esteemed team. This individual will play a critical role in delivering top-tier training to special operations aircrew members, covering a spectrum of areas including:
- Formal Aircrew Training: Provide comprehensive academic, simulator, and flight instruction to both officer and enlisted personnel. Training encompasses initial/mission qualification, aircraft commander upgrade, requalification, instructor upgrade, and specialized emergency procedures, systems operation, instrument flight, and tactical maneuvers.
- Refresher Training: Deliver academic and simulator-based refresher training to maintain the proficiency of qualified AC130 aircrews.
- Instructional Design: Contribute expertise to the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process, ensuring the accuracy and effective implementation of all AC130J courseware.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor students, fostering their development into proficient and confident AC130 aircrew members.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience:
- Currency as an AC130 Pilot within the past two years. Alternatively, candidates with 8 years of military operational flying experience, including a minimum of 2 years or 200 hours as an in-flight instructor on the relevant Mission Design Series (MDS) and mission sets within the past 8 years will be considered.
- 1000+ hours in the AC130 H/U/W/J.
- 100+ hours of Night Vision Goggle flight time.
- 200+ hours of instructor experience.
- Graduation from the Aviation Instructor School (AIS).
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.
- Skills:

- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable and responsive in dynamic environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
