An exceptional opportunity exists for a highly qualified and experienced Flight Simulator Instructor to join a leading aviation training organization. This pivotal role involves delivering world-class simulator and ground school instruction to professional pilots, specifically specializing in the Gulfstream G550 platform. The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and instructional excellence within an elite training team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Delivers comprehensive recurrent and upgrade training sessions utilizing Gulfstream G550 Full Flight Simulators (FFS).
- Executes meticulous pre-flight briefings, post-session debriefings, and objective performance evaluations for pilots.
- Develops, prepares, and updates engaging lesson plans, courseware, and training materials, adapting content to diverse pilot proficiency levels.
- Maintains accurate simulator documentation and actively contributes to the development of innovative training courses.
- Acts as an Examiner and provides dedicated support to the Chief Flight Simulator Instructor as required.
- Upholds stringent adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory authority-approved programs and training standards.
- Conducts all simulator briefings with the utmost professionalism, thoroughness, and a positive instructional approach.
- Systematically identifies and documents any deviations from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and addresses them constructively during debriefing sessions.
- Verifies client Training and Checking Authorization forms meticulously prior to commencing instruction.
- Provides expert simulator instruction on assigned aircraft types, with sessions typically requiring 4 or more hours, exclusive of briefing and debriefing time.
- Leads dynamic classroom instruction sessions, employing various methodologies including Simfinity, Computer-Based Training (CBT), Instructor-Led Training (ILT), or traditional lectures, for approximately 8-10 hours per day.
- Actively supports the development and certification processes for new training curricula and advanced training devices (e.g., simulators, Flight Training Devices (FTDs), Flight Management System (FMS) aids).
- Commits to attaining FAA/EASA ground school and simulator instructor designations within the first 12 months of employment.
- Successfully obtains Examiner qualifications under the relevant aviation authorities.
- Performs Right Seat Support duties as necessary to facilitate training operations.
- Accurately completes and maintains training records, recommends targeted remedial training, and meticulously tracks personal instructional qualifications.
- Ensures all classroom facilities and equipment are prepared and inspected to the highest standards before each training day.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possession of a Gulfstream G550 type rating is highly advantageous; alternatively, a type rating on another business jet with current flight experience is preferred.
- An Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) (EASA/FAA) with a valid Instrument Rating is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flying time is required.
- Demonstrable prior experience in simulator instructing is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English to a minimum of ICAO Level 5, with Level 6 being preferred.
- A clean professional record, free from failed IOSA audits, hazardous occurrences, or any disciplinary or criminal history, is essential.
