Job Summary:

The Grob 120TP Instructor will report directly to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for delivering high-quality flight instruction to student pilots utilizing the Grob G120TP aircraft and associated training devices. This role supports the Army Fixed Wing Program and evolving international military training programs. The instructor provides training in aircraft, classroom, simulator, or practical environments as required. Additionally, the position may involve serving as a Subject Matter Expert for curriculum development, reviewing courseware, and undertaking administrative duties such as publications, safety support, quality audits, training coordination, and scheduling. Ensuring a safe and secure work environment is paramount. CAE provides comprehensive training in the Grob G120TP, including Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) certification by Aviation Performance Solutions (APS).

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties as an Instructor Pilot and contribute to training development as necessary.
• Interface proactively with program members, customers, and CAE USA staff to identify and resolve quality assurance issues, ensuring all quality requirements are met.
• Collaborate with various departments, management, and staff to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
• Conduct all business operations in strict adherence to corporate policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A minimum of 2000 hours total flight time, with at least 1000 hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
• A minimum of 750 hours of dual instruction given.
• Possession of a valid FAA Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (SEL) Pilot’s License.
• Possession of a valid FAA Airplane Single Engine Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Instrument Airplane (CFII) rating.
• Candidates must currently hold the specified ratings or be able to obtain them by the hire date.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II Flight Medical Certificate is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in all-attitude, all-envelope flight is required (e.g., military flight instructor, tactical/fighter experience, aerobatics, test pilot school graduate with spin testing experience). T-6/T-34 experience is preferred.
• Successful completion of the Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) 5-week Advanced Instructor Upset Recovery Training Course is required.
• Required to sign a one-year training agreement with CAE upon hiring.
• Required to sign an additional one-year training agreement upon completion of APS training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word is necessary.
• Ability to deliver effective oral presentations to management and customers.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime, any shift, or day of the week as required.
• A strong understanding of military protocols and customs is essential.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• FAA Commercial, Single-Engine, Instrument Airplane rating and Certificated Flight Instructor in all three categories/ratings, or the ability to readily obtain these through a military competency process with the FAA.

Security Responsibilities:

The incumbent must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. Personal responsibility for the proper marking and handling of all information and materials is required. Information or access shall not be divulged to employees without a need-to-know or outside the company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources. Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is required. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The role may require domestic and international travel. Physical requirements include the ability to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders into simulator or airplane cockpits, stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery. The ability to detect odors or hear noises indicative of problems with equipment is necessary. While work is primarily in a regular office environment utilizing standard communication tools, the role also involves exposure to working areas with potential risks such as electrical shock, moving mechanical parts driven by high-pressure hydraulics, extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Physical stamina and appropriate stature are required to maintain composure in an airplane seat while wearing a parachute during aerobatic flight profiles.
