Position Overview: Praetor 600 Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking a dedicated and professional Praetor 600 Instructor Pilot to provide world-class simulator and ground school instruction. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding clients through comprehensive training programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality flight simulator and ground school instruction in alignment with CAE curricula and regulatory standards.
  • Provide comprehensive training for licenses, type ratings, internal qualifications, and certificates.
  • Conduct professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation, manage remedial training recommendations, and monitor instructor qualifications in accordance with CAE and FAA requirements.
  • Act as an SME to support ongoing curriculum and courseware development.
  • Transition to a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman role after approximately 1.5 years, based on business needs.
  • Participate in training programs requiring international travel and extended stays.
  • Cultivate a welcoming, professional learning environment tailored to a diverse client base.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or state-issued equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Unrestricted ATP certificate and one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • 3,000+ hours of total flight time.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent fluency in English (written and verbal) with strong presentation and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based platforms.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
  • Ability to participate in the CAE DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol testing program.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching or training experience.
  • Existing instructor qualification or type rating.
  • Experience with FAR Part 135 operations.
  • Specific experience on the Praetor 600 or comparable business aircraft.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide "red carpet" customer service and adapt to diverse learner needs.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong record-keeping aptitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Ability to occasionally maneuver into various positions, including confined spaces.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally move about the facility and adjust/move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, or finger motions as required.
