CAE invites qualified aviation professionals to join its esteemed Business Aviation Training team at the newly inaugurated training centre in Vienna (Schwechat), Austria. This state-of-the-art 8,000-square-metre facility, purpose-built to deliver advanced pilot training in Central Europe, initially operates five Full Flight Simulators, including models for the G550, PH100/300, Global 7500, and Global 6000 Vision business jets from leading manufacturers. With capacity for expansion up to nine Full Flight Simulators, CAE is committed to making world-class business pilot training more accessible across Central Europe.

The Opportunity: Synthetic Flight & Ground School Instructor

CAE is seeking full-time Synthetic Flight & Ground School Instructors who are ready to leverage their extensive aviation experience to become world-class subject matter experts. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead clients through their advanced training programs with reduced work-related travel. Instructors will collaborate closely with client partners, providing expert Synthetic Flight instruction and delivering essential classroom-based ground school. This position involves working with top-of-the-range equipment and the very latest aircraft technologies, while also being responsible for maintaining accurate and concise trainee records.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensure the high-quality delivery of client training according to qualification standards, encompassing classroom systems, performance ground school, and in-simulator pilot training.
Monitor and ensure full compliance with all relevant authorizations and qualifications.
Actively pursue an increase in instructor qualifications as required by the training programs.
Conduct comprehensive and high-quality pre- and post-flight briefings.
Propose enhancements to curriculum and courseware materials to enrich the client experience.
Provide assistance to the Lead Instructor with assigned duties upon request.
Guarantee the accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork and electronic records.
Provide single client seat support on occasion, as necessary.
Deliver designated portions of both initial and recurrent ground school instruction.
Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Training Manager.

Ideal Professional Pilot Profile

CAE is looking for aviation professionals who embody the following attributes:

Experienced Synthetic Flight Instructors.
Proven instructional experience coupled with high-performance aircraft proficiency.
Demonstrated skill in mentoring and fostering the development of industry colleagues.

Required Qualifications

A valid EASA licence is mandatory.
A minimum of 1500 hours total multi-pilot time is required. Applicants with 500 hours or more of single-pilot (SP) time are encouraged to highlight this experience.
Previous instructional experience (e.g., CFI, SFI, or SFE) is ideal but not strictly required.
Exceptional proficiency in English, demonstrating high-level reading, speaking, and conversational abilities.
A meticulous attention to detail in training delivery, with a commitment to maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with CAE policies and requirements.
The ability to effectively tailor training sessions to meet the diverse needs of a varied customer base.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and other internet-based programs.
Flexibility to commit to a full-time work pattern.
Must reside within a commutable distance to the Training Centre in Schwechat, Austria.
The legal right to live and work in Austria is highly desirable.
Willingness to undertake a period of training outside of Austria to obtain initial type and SFI ratings.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
