On-Call Simulator Flight Instructor

Job Overview

CAE seeks a dedicated Simulator Flight Instructor to deliver comprehensive aviation training. This critical role focuses on providing instruction primarily within advanced flight simulators and training devices, supplemented by ground school sessions as required. The instructor ensures all training adheres strictly to applicable regulatory standards and customer-specific requirements, contributing to the professional development of aviators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings, aligning with CAE's high standards.
  • Execute simulator sessions in strict accordance with CAE, aircraft manufacturer, or customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide expert flight instruction for the issuance of pilot licenses, type ratings, and certificates.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client training records, ensuring clarity and a smooth transition for subsequent instructors.
  • Assess client progress and recommend remedial training when necessary for those not meeting required standards.
  • Accurately record simulator usage and any operational discrepancies according to established procedures.
  • Proactively track the validity of instructional qualifications to guarantee continuous compliance with contractual training delivery obligations.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert in the development of curricula and courseware when requested.
  • Undertake training for examiner responsibilities as directed by the Head of Training.
  • Serve as an invigilator during examination procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Hold or have held a Brazilian Airline Transport Pilot License (PLA).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Captain on the B737NG aircraft.
  • Possess the minimum experience stipulated by the regulatory authority responsible for issuing instructor ratings.
  • A working knowledge of relevant aviation regulations is essential.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective professional relationships.
  • Maintain a strong customer-centric approach, even under challenging circumstances.
  • Demonstrate a keen focus on quality and a commitment to continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Possess the ability to concentrate and perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exhibit adaptability and the capacity to readily accept and implement changes.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Hold an existing instructor qualification or rating issued by a recognized Regulatory Authority.
  • Meet the relevant minimum qualification and experience criteria for qualification as a Simulator Instructor.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a job-related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience as a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Instructor.
