Second in Command Pilot

As a Second in Command Pilot, the individual will support the Captain in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This role requires a dedication to the highest standards of aviation safety, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a flight crew. The Second in Command assists with navigation, flight planning, communications, and the management of in-flight systems.

Responsibilities:

Operate aircraft in full compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
Assist the Captain with pre-flight planning, including route and weather analysis, fuel calculations, and crew briefings.
Maintain clear and professional communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC) to receive clearances, weather updates, and operational instructions.
Monitor flight instruments, conduct system checks, and provide regular reports on aircraft performance.
Support the Captain in adhering to all aviation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Assist with post-flight procedures, including aircraft inspections, maintenance reports, and updating flight logs.
Take control of the aircraft during emergencies or as directed by the Captain.

Qualifications:

A thorough understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and safety procedures.
Strong customer service skills with a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Demonstrated capacity to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
Comprehensive knowledge of Flight Operations Manuals, Training Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Company Check Pilot Manuals, and relevant civil aviation regulations.
Willingness and ability to support overnight travel, including multi-day international trips.
Seven to ten years of aviation experience with a Bachelor's degree in Aviation (from a military or certified program).
A minimum of 3,000 total flight hours, including 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command.

Work Environment:

Office: Controlled temperature between 65F and 75F.
Hanger: Perishable warehouse environment ranging from 28F to 60F.
