Brussels Airlines, the home carrier of Belgium and a member of the Lufthansa Group, is seeking highly motivated First Officers, both type-rated and non-type-rated, to join its expanding team. As a network airline, Brussels Airlines connects Brussels Airport with over 85 destinations, including 17 in Sub-Saharan Africa, and currently operates a fleet of 40 aircraft. The airline employs over 3,200 personnel, including 538 pilots.

Brussels Airlines demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability, aiming for a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2019 and carbon neutrality by 2050. The company participates in the Stargate Project at Brussels Airport and has committed to the Circular Economy agreement. Recent fleet modernization includes the addition of three Airbus A320neo aircraft, significantly reducing CO2 and noise emissions on medium-haul routes. The airline also intends to operate its first flight using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by 2023.

As a national ambassador, Brussels Airlines showcases Belgian culture through collaborations with renowned chefs, Belgian culinary products, and the “Belgian Icons” initiative, featuring specially painted aircraft that celebrate iconic Belgian figures, teams, and events. The airline also offers cargo capacity on all flights, commercialized by Lufthansa Cargo, and manages the daily maintenance of its fleet. Brussels Airlines is a member of Star Alliance and is wholly owned by Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

First Officer Requirements:

  • Valid EASA ATPL (A) or CPL (A)/IR with ATPL frozen license.
  • Valid Multi Engine/IR (A) rating.
  • Multi Crew Coordination (MCC) course completion.
  • Advanced UPRT Training according to EASA.FCL.745.A (for applicants without previous ratings).
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written (ICAO Level 4 or higher).
  • Fluency in either Dutch or French is mandatory.
  • Current Class 1 Medical Certificate, valid for at least six months.
  • Certificate of good conduct (bewijs van goed gedrag en zeden/certificat bonne vie et moeurs).
  • Submission of the last three pages of your logbook.
  • Submission of a comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV) and cover letter.
