The Position: B737NG Captain
Smartwings is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced EASA B737NG Captains for immediate employment. This is a crucial, long-term opportunity for dedicated aviation professionals seeking a stable, self-employed contract within a dynamic European operation.
- Contract Period: Two years (renewable).
- Employment Basis: Self-employment.
- Contract Start: Immediate commencement, continuing until October 31, 2027.
Mandatory Minimum Requirements
The prospective B737NG Captain must satisfy the following stringent criteria:
- Must hold a current EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- Possess a valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Maintain a current Command Type Rating endorsed with a B737 Instrument Rating (IR).
- Accumulate a minimum of 3,500 total flying hours.
- Preferably hold 1,000 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours specifically on the Boeing 737 Next Generation (B737NG) aircraft.
- The applicant's last flight must have occurred within the previous 12 months.
- Must possess unrestricted rights to live and work within the European Union (EU).
Remuneration and Comprehensive Terms
Operational Structure and Roster
- Roster Pattern: A favorable 20 days ON, 10 days OFF roster pattern is utilized, guaranteeing a minimum of 10 consecutive days off per calendar month.
- Operational Bases: Bases are structured seasonally. Winter operations (October to May) are conducted from assigned bases in India and Cameroon. Summer operations (June to September) utilize various bases across Europe.
Compensation Structure (Self-Employed)
This attractive package rewards experience and productivity:
- Minimum Basic Salary: €6,800 per month (based on 40 monthly minimum block hours).
- Overtime Rate: €180 per hour for all hours flown above the minimum 40 hours, plus performance bonuses.
- Estimated Monthly Pay: Based on an average of 85 flying hours, the estimated compensation is approximately €15,400 per month.
- Ground School Stipend: A stipend of €5,000 per month is provided, starting from the commencement of Ground School until the successful completion of the Operator Conversion Course (OCC) Simulator assessment.
Allowances and Travel Support
- Accommodation is provided free of charge during postings in India and Cameroon.
- A Stay and Travel Allowance of €500 per month is granted during European rotations.
- Travel Benefits: Access to MyID Travel is extended to the Captain and up to four qualifying family members for the duration of the contract.
- The airline covers transport costs between the assigned home base and the main operational base during the 20-day duty cycle.
- All associated induction costs (e.g., security clearance) are covered by the airline.
