The Opportunity
Insitu Pacific seeks a highly motivated and experienced Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Instructor to join its dynamic team. This pivotal role is responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of RPAS training programs for both Pilot and Maintenance Technician courses, catering to both internal staff and external clients across Australia and internationally. The RPAS Instructor will also have the opportunity to support the Flight Operations Team on domestic and international assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and update training syllabuses, class rosters, student training records, and courseware materials.
- Define daily instructional objectives and adapt content and delivery methods to meet evolving needs.
- Identify and schedule training resources, including facilities, equipment, and flight simulation time.
- Ensure all resources and training content adhere to contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and established maintenance standards.
- Conduct engaging classroom sessions, practical exercises, flight simulations, and field-based training, demonstrating maintenance procedures and best practices for both Pilot and Maintenance Technician courses.
- Assign student coursework, administer assessments, provide individualized remedial instruction, and meticulously maintain student records and all required documentation.
- Administer written, oral, practical, flight, and simulation-based assessments for Pilot and/or Maintenance Technician students.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment coupled with demonstrated experience as an Instructor.
- Current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate.
- Comprehensive understanding of RPAS encompassing air vehicles, ground segments (ground stations and mission planning), and supportability.
- Strong knowledge and practical skills in maintenance processes, procedures, tools, troubleshooting techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in crew resource management, weight and balance calculations, navigation procedures, airspace regulations, meteorology, aircraft performance data, communication protocols, flight planning, industry regulations, and operator skills.
- Valid Australian Open (Manual) Driver License.
- Willingness and ability to operate in remote locations both domestically and internationally.
Desirable Attributes:
- Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a CASA Instrument Rating Examination (IREX) or Instrument Rating qualification for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.
- Certificate or Diploma in Aeroskills (Mechanical/Avionics).
- Diploma in Training Design and Development or equivalent experience as an Instructional Designer.
