Flight Attendant/Loadmaster Instructor - Part-Time
Job Location: Training Campus - San Marcos, TX
Purpose:
This position serves as a Flight Attendant/Loadmaster Instructor (FA/LM-I) to deliver required academic and flight training and testing in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135, Operations Specifications, and company training program requirements. The FA/LM-I conducts training and testing for flight attendant and loadmaster candidates and coordinates with the Chief of Cabin Crew and Director of Training regarding operating procedures, training, and testing.
The FA/LM-I will maintain flight attendant and loadmaster qualifications in applicable aircraft and any special mission capabilities associated with flight operations in those aircraft.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides academic and flight training, as well as ongoing mentorship for FA/LM candidates' initial qualification, recurrent, and requalification curriculums and modules in accordance with the company Flight Attendant/Loadmaster Training Program (FTP).
- Delivers classroom instruction, ground instruction, normal and emergency drills, aircrew integration, crew resource management (CRM) instruction, flight instruction, and FA/LM testing in special capabilities (e.g., Passenger and Cargo Operations, Extrication, Aerial Delivery, Cabin Crew Air Ambulance Operations, Engine-Running Offload (ERO), etc.).
- Administers oral, written, and practical testing of FA/LMs in compliance with applicable CFRs and the company training program.
- Completes, with accuracy and timeliness, all required documentation following training and testing activities.
- Assists the Director of Training (DOT) in researching, evaluating, and implementing new or revised training systems, policies, procedures, and techniques.
- Codifies standardization areas and topics as a liaison between the Chief of Cabin Crew and the DOT.
- Provides subject matter expertise and liaison between line-of-business and field units and the DOT for the validation and verification of training programs and protocols.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Previous or current flight attendant and/or loadmaster experience.
- Prior instructional experience or equivalent military experience as cabin crew or flight engineer.
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.
- Valid Passport.
- Ability to meet company fitness standards for cabin crew including safety sensitive positions, drug and alcohol testing/screening programs, etc.
Preferred Experience:
- Ability to acquire and maintain or currently hold an active Secret Clearance or higher.
- Good working knowledge and experience with MS Office or Office 365 computer programs and/or database programs.
- Prior experience as FA/LM-I, particularly in FAR 135 or 121 air carriers.
- Valid Passport.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., perform assigned pilot duties involving confined sitting for up to 10 flight hours per day, and be exposed to a wide variety of environmental and weather conditions while working outside including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
- Must reside or be willing to relocate to CONUS; preferably the Austin-San Antonio or Atlanta area.
- Ability to travel to accomplish training and job duties up to 30% of the time.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments including indoor, outdoor, and austere operating environments within hostile areas of operation that may include threats from enemy combatants both in the air and on the ground.
