Job Overview
Berry Aviation invites applications for a highly qualified and experienced EMB-120 Captain Pilot. The successful candidate will serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for on-demand cargo flights, operating as part of a two-pilot crew. The Captain holds direct responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights, including the supervision and oversight of the Second in Command. This pivotal role ensures adherence to the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate the EMB-120 aircraft in strict adherence to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and assist in the proper loading and securing of cargo and support equipment, ensuring airworthiness and compliance with all company policies and safety protocols.
- Accurately prepare all necessary Weight and Balance documentation in accordance with established company procedures.
- Obtain and interpret local weather information and Air Traffic Control (ATC) clearances, meticulously preparing the cockpit and flight plan in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain an on-call status during assigned periods and demonstrate the ability to report to the assigned aircraft within 30 minutes of notification.
- Successfully complete all initial and recurrent training and testing programs mandated by the company's training department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support flight operations.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings.
- Minimum of 1500 hours total flight time in airplanes.
- Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid U.S. Passport.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current and valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RR).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to relocate within 30 minutes of the assigned domicile.
- Flexibility to travel away from domicile for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine rating.
- 3000+ hours total flight time in airplanes.
- 1000+ hours multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
- Undergraduate degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in confined cockpit spaces.
- Capable of manipulating, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects exceeding 150 lbs.
- Proficiency in reaching, stretching across objects, and twisting within confined spaces.
- Tolerance for working in diverse environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
- Ability to work comfortably at altitudes higher than sea level.
