About the Role
Berry Aviation, Inc. invites applications for an experienced Aircraft Captain to operate DHC-8 Dash 8 aircraft. This full-time position involves leading missions in OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) austere environments, including Djibouti, with support from San Marcos, TX. The successful Captain will ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance for all flights under FAR Part 135.
Responsibilities

Plan flights, gathering information on purpose, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.

Prepare detailed flight plans, considering factors like altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control, airport facilities, and navigational aids.

Ensure FAR Part 135 compliance for all flight releases and required documentation.

Verify airworthiness inspections are complete and discrepancies are corrected or deferred per MEL.

Perform comprehensive aircraft preflight inspections, including risk assessments for each flight.

Execute assigned flights, adhering strictly to schedules, routes, and load manifests.

Ensure effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) and thorough crew briefings for all flight particulars and changes.

Communicate routinely with on-site management on safety, maintenance, life support, customer, and personnel issues.
Requirements
Required Qualifications

Possession of a current FAA Multi Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP).

A valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

A current US Passport with a minimum of six months validity remaining at all times.

At least 1,500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time.

A minimum of 500 hours of PIC time in multi-engine aircraft.

Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level.

High school Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications

Total flight time exceeding 3,000 hours.

A minimum of 1,200 hours of multi-engine turbine-time.

Proven experience in aerial delivery operations.

Demonstrated experience in Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations.

Holds a current and active U.S. Security clearance at the Secret level.

At least one year of experience as a FAR Part 135 pilot.

A minimum of one year of Government contracting experience within OCONUS austere environments or locations.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs.

Capable of performing aircraft piloting duties for up to 10 hours per day.

Comfortable with exposure to a wide variety of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather.
