Title: Sr. Captain/Pilot

Reports to: Chief Pilot

Supervises: Flight crewmembers on assigned flights when acting as PIC

Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree

Licenses: ATP with Multi-Engine Land rating

GV (G550) Type rating preferred

English proficient

Valid automobile driver’s license

Valid passport

Medical: FAA First Class medical certificate every six months to the day

Flight time: 4000 hours total time

1000 hours multiengine

Experience: Three years international Captain experience

Qualified and familiar with global flight operations

Skills:

Knowledge of the FOM, Training Manuals, SOPs, and the provisions of the CFRs and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Captain position.

Position Description:

The Sr. Captain, when assigned as the PIC, is responsible for the safe transport of company personnel on domestic and international flights. The Sr. Captain ensures aircraft meets performance for airworthiness, researches current weather, and calculates and files flight plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works within Baxter Healthcare Corporation Flight Department to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service
  • Retains final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft
  • Ensures that proper documents are on the aircraft
  • Instructs and directs crewmembers so that they understand fully and completely what duties they are expected to perform
  • Makes decisions related to the start, delay, or cancellation of the flight, or deviation from a planned destination when operating conditions dictate
  • Prepares or supervises preparation of flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, airport facilities, and navigational aids
  • Performs tasks associated with operating the aircraft while away from home base
  • Ensures that a flight plan or other authorized flight locating procedures are followed on each flight
  • Reports known or suspected FAA violations or incidents promptly to the Chief Pilot
  • Ensures that crewmembers provide passengers with the appropriate briefing for each phase of flight
  • Ensures that the required passenger ground handling and transportation is in place
  • Completes relevant trip documentation at the conclusion of the flight
  • Ensures that crewmembers on assigned flights are fully qualified, properly rested, prepared for flight, have required licenses and certificates in their possession, and are briefed on specific requirements of the trip
