The role
As a HEMS Co-Pilot, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary; you’ll be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance providing Helicopter Emergency Medical Services across the English counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, delivering enhanced emergency medical and trauma care across the region.

Day to day, you’ll co-pilot to operate HEMS and Air Ambulance missions, both by day and utilising NVIS for night operations.

This role is full-time, and based onsite at Cambridge Airport. The HEMS Co-Pilot is required to reside within 45-minutes / 25-miles of Cambridge Airport, or make arrangements for accommodation at their own expense.

Essential experience of the HEMS Co-Pilot:

  • 500-hours minimum total helicopter experience
  • Current or Recent HEMS experience – desirable
  • Have experience of flight with Night Vision Goggles – desirable
  • Clear, concise English language and communication skills
  • Full Driving License
  • Current / valid passport

Qualifications for the HEMS Co-Pilot:

  • Hold an EASA ATPL (H) or CPL(H) with IR
  • Be qualified and instrument rated on both the EC135 and EC145 – desirable

The successful candidate must hold, or be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
