The role
As a Qualified Flying Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary teaching potential Army Air Corps pilots how to fly an aeroplane, whilst at the same time assessing their ability to be trained to be Army Air Corps pilots.

Reporting to the Flight Commander your key accountabilities will be as follows:

  • Deliver Army Flying Grading on behalf of the MoD to selected Army students, Complete end of course reports.
  • Actively encourage and maintain a culture of military ethos throughout 6 FTS and embrace the Student Care Directives.
  • To maintain the highest level of safety and quality throughout the 6 FTS operation.
  • Ensuring that all communication, documentation and typed material is of the required standard.
  • Complete Staff Continuation Training requirements.
  • Promote best practice and report bad practice and non-compliance to ensure continual improvement in the organisation.

This role is full time and based onsite at Army Aviation Centre Middle Wallop, a British Army airfield located near the Hampshire town of Stockbridge.

Essential experience of the Qualified Flying Instructor

  • Previous Military flying experience with a minimum CFS B1 QFI/QHI category.
  • Minimum of Commercial Pilots Licence, Unrestricted Instructor Rating (with Aerobatics) and valid Instrument Rating
  • Completed a Flying Supervisors Course/Flight Authorisers Course
  • Be fully conversant with Military Flying orders
  • Professional in appearance and manner
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Customer Care focussed

Qualifications for the Qualified Flying Instructor

We don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to education, provided you can show the required level of experience and then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
