Role Overview
BAE Systems is seeking a dedicated Structural Composites Instructor to join the project team at RAAF Base, Wagga Wagga. Reporting to the Line Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering Initial Employment Training (IET) to aviation trade students. This position focuses on the instruction of Aerospace Structures and Composite materials, requiring the ability to facilitate training across classrooms, workshops, and hangars.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver Initial Employment Training (IET) in Aerospace Structures and composite repair techniques.

Facilitate both theoretical and practical instruction regarding composite materials, structural repair, and aviation maintenance practices.

Contribute to the development, preparation, and maintenance of comprehensive training materials and resources.

Manage the administration and continuous improvement of the structures training program.

Uphold the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices within the training environment.

Mentor and guide tri-service cohorts of aviation trade trainees.
Essential Qualifications and Skills

Extensive professional experience in Aerospace Structures, with significant exposure to composite materials and repairs.

Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) is mandatory.

Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and develop aviation trade trainees.

Strong communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE). Candidates who do not currently hold this qualification must be willing to undertake the necessary training to obtain it.

Previous Defence experience, whether as a former Defence member or through experience within Defence regulatory systems.
Security Requirements
This role requires a defence security clearance. Applicants must be Australian citizens and possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable; therefore, nationality may be a factor in determining suitability for this position.
