Overview

BAE Systems Australia is seeking a motivated and experienced Structures Technical Instructor to join the project team based at RAAF Base, Wagga Wagga. This role involves delivering Initial Employment Training (IET) to aviation trade students, with a specific focus on Aerospace Structures and Composite materials. The successful candidate will facilitate hands-on training across classrooms, workshops, and hangars to develop the next generation of aviation maintainers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Initial Employment Training (IET) in Aerospace Structures and Composite repair techniques.
  • Facilitate both theoretical and practical training regarding composite materials, structural repair, and aviation maintenance practices.
  • Provide instruction across diverse training environments, including classrooms, workshops, and hangars.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, preparation, and maintenance of training resources and materials.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of the structures training program.
  • Uphold high standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and industry best practice within all training activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Aerospace Structures with a strong focus on Composite Materials and Repairs.
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and develop aviation trade trainees.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) is desirable; candidates without this qualification must be willing to obtain it.
  • Previous Defence experience is considered highly desirable but not essential.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence security clearance.
