Overview
BAE Systems is seeking a dedicated Structural Composites Instructor to join the team at RAAF Base, Wagga Wagga. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering Initial Employment Training (IET) to aviation trade students, with a specific focus on aerospace structures and composite materials. This position involves training across diverse environments, including classrooms, workshops, and hangars, to support the development of future aviation maintainers.
Core Duties

Deliver Initial Employment Training (IET) in Aerospace Structures and composite repair techniques.

Facilitate both theoretical and practical instruction regarding composite materials, structural repairs, and aviation maintenance best practices.

Conduct training sessions within classroom, workshop, and hangar environments.

Contribute to the preparation, development, and maintenance of training materials and resources.

Assist in the administration and continuous improvement of the structures training program.

Maintain a rigorous focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Extensive professional experience in Aerospace Structures, with significant exposure to composite materials and repairs.

Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) – Essential.

Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and develop aviation trade trainees.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) – Desirable (Candidates without this qualification must be willing to obtain it).

Defence industry experience (ex-Defence member or experience within Defence regulatory systems) – Desirable.
Security and Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply to this position, and nationality may be a factor in determining suitability.
